children photography this is Hannah having a fine art portrait taken

Over the years a photographer will find a area that they find most enjoyable and going back to time and time again, this was the case for me when discovered fine art photography, it depicts emotion in a vivid and distinctive style. Fine art portraits are timeless and capture the essence of the subject’s character. I was on a training course many years ago for wildlife photography I was the youngest member of the group all the others were around my age now. I watched the tutor as she lined up her camera go the light just right and snap a beautiful image of a flower was captured. I carried on the day but just did not get a feeling of yes this is for me. I later enrolled on a portrait photography course and loved every second from start to finish, I was hooked on this after taking 1000s of images over the years I slowly wanted to create something more a image that was not just the usual bright lights big grin that we see everywhere I wanted to creat fine art images. A fine art image is just that a piece of art. My work is based on the use of complementary colours around there or four are usually enough the image is about you, your expression, the person you are inside. Fine art photography is the area I love and each image we create its a genuine piece of art that should be the centre of your home for generations to come

“Ultimately, fine art portrait photographs are the family heirlooms of the future. This is art for art’s sake. The finest specimens are in which the subject seems amazingly real when the photograph is positioned just in front of you”

Fine Art photography

The style of photography I specialise in is a dramatic fine art portrait, We have a selection of outfits in various sizes. if you would like to have a portrait taken in maybe a victorian dress or a top hat we have many props including umbrellas and dried flowers that can add to the image. When you get in touch we will arrange a follow up call to go over wardrobe ideas and answer any questions you may have, if you would like a make up artist for hair and makeup this is not always necessary but some clients enjoy the experience of having a professional make up artist and hair stylist.

On the day of the shoot we will contact you in the morning to confirm and when you arrive I hope you will feel welcome and relaxed, I am a very happy and easy going person and love to chat so prior to commencing we will have a coffee and go over the shoot. The studio for some is a place we can sometimes not feel relaxed this is very common as in the past we may have been told to smile and look at the camera producing cheesy grins with no emotion and causing a dread of having a photo taken. I hope by the end of your session you feel happy to return and no longer dreading having an image taken.

The images we get will be instantly shown on the monitor so you can see how amazing you look. The images are not edited at this stage so they will not be ready to take home just yet. A average shoot lasts around one hour but can go into 2 to 3 quite easily should you feel happy to proceed.

Upon completion we can review the images and you can feel free to decide on the images you would like to have edited, The charge of each edited image will be explained in detail on your consolation meeting prior to attending and after the shoot. We print all our work on site using museum grade paper which lasts for over 100 years. You are welcome to see the printing progress should you wish. We provide a number of frame mounts and samples can be seen in our studio. Printed images are derived either personally or by courier and are individually wrapped and protected.

Lucy specialise in children photography and she will work with you and discuss ideas on what kind of images you are looking for. Younger children under 6 will not be as willing to have their photo taken as an older child, with this In mins we suggest booking a mid morning shoot. We have a selection of pros for children and even Disney the background or on a smart speaker to keep them from losing interest. We also have a small garden area for them to use should they wish. Younger children tend to be interested for around 30 minutes maximum but we should be able to get some beautiful portraits in that time.

We also offer a onsite service for children photography in your home or a local park, this is sometimes easier as we can get the whole family involved and the children will be relaxed playing with mum and dad riding a bicycle or kicking a football providing beautiful times images. We ask to get to you around breakfast time so the children are relaxed and feel more at ease with us and our cameras.

I work from a home studio based in south London which is very close to lewisham Rail and DLR station only 5 minutes walk. We are easily reached by a. number of buses and the stops are 2 minutes walk away. Parking outside can also be arranged.
